Do you think you are talented? Do you believe that you have gifts unlike any other? I hope so, because I believe God gave us all talent. It was our gift at birth. In my many years of developing models and actors I came across two types of people (or parents.) Those who knew they had talent and expected everything to come easily. And those who knew they had talent and were willing to work to develop it.  It was always the latter that was most successful. Which one are you?

If you want to reach your highest potential having talent is not enough, you must have a strong work ethic. John Maxwell wrote, “ Commitment is what you must put in today in order to make today your masterpiece and make tomorrow a success.”

Don’t expect it to be easy. We all have the same choices and the ability to excel; it most often is our commitment and focus that determines the outcome.  Just because you are talented does not mean there is not work to do.  Your choices will ultimately decide your future. When creating your masterpiece today, here are three things that will cultivate your talent and produce a victorious outcome.

  1.  Be Single-minded in Your Focus- I know for many of us (including me) this can be a struggle. However when we are single-minded in our focus we can accomplish much more.
  2. Make the Right Choices- Anyone can make excuses for why they wonder off track, don’t let that be you. Stay in integrity with yourself, make choices that are in alignment and support your vision.  If you refuse to give into excuses, no matter how tempting they may be, you have the potential to go very far.
  3. Find Ways to Develop Your Talenteven the most “talented” spend hours developing it! Regardless of what you may think, no one who is really successful is an “over-night” success. Do not be so haughty as to think you do not need to continue to develop the gifts you have. Find ways to continually grow and develop them. If you do, you too will be a great success.
