How to Overcome Your Fear of Using Video

You may have heard that speaking in front of people is one of the #1 fears that most people have. You can probably imagine that speaking on-camera is no different! Fear can prevent us from taking risks, trying something new, and living out our full potential. It’s such a challenge that I decided to take an entire month to talk about what we fear and how to overcome it.

Fear doesn’t just stop us from using video, it keeps us from showing up in all of our brilliance. It keeps us small, and our businesses small too.

I hear people articulate these three fears most often:

  • I’m not ready.
  • I don’t know what to say.
  • I feel too vulnerable putting myself out there, I’m afraid to be judged.

“I’m not ready” is a very common fear. It really means “I don’t think I know enough to speak on this.” Everyone feels this at some point in their life. And it’s a paralyzing fear that prevents you from showing your expertise.

In today’s video, I share some of the ways I’ve found to overcome this crippling thinking. Take a few minutes to learn the tricks I use to get over my fear and take the first step. If you have any tricks of your own, I’d love to hear them!

This month, we’re on a mission to help you move through your fears so you can step into the great vision you see for yourself. Just talking about our fears helps, in part because when we acknowledge them we can move through them.

When you’re inspired, you inspire others…and that is what this world is all about.
