Top 3 Reasons I LOVE attending Events

Spring is in the air and I don’t know about you…but I can FEEL the new, fresh energy! There is something to be said about the sunshine, warmth, and fresh, beautiful flowers that bring a sense of newness, and vitality this time of year. The change in season is the perfect time to bring the freshness that is blooming outside, into your business! One of my favorite ways to gain fresh inspiration is to attend live events!

Here are the Top 3 Reasons that I LOVE attending events:

1) Fuel Your Soul & Get Re-Inspired

As entrepreneurs, we are so used to doing everything ourselves, including inspiring ourselves to get up each day and put our all into our businesses. I’m the first to admit that sometimes this can be a struggle. It’s not only OK to look outside of yourself for inspiration, it’s needed!

It’s amazing how just one sentence from a speaker can completely change your outlook and spark a light inside of you that may have started to fade with the rigors of your day to day hustle. There is definitely something to be said about the invigorating energy that ensues when you are in a room surrounded by like-minded, driven, inspired people! You can FEEL the determination, work ethic, and inspiration! The benefits of bringing this buzzing energy back to your office, is unquantifiable!

2) Get Connected Offline

The rarity of face-to-face connection in today’s world is truly astonishing. With the increase in technological advancement, the easier it is to never have to leave the comforts of your home or office to do business. Through email, texting, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Skype, Google Hangouts, and all of the other digital ways of connecting, there is virtually no need to ever speak to anyone in person!

However, the truth of the matter is that no matter how convenient technology has made virtual communication, there is no replacement for face-to-face connection and communication. Every time I make space in my schedule to meet a client for lunch, or take the afternoon off to meet up with other entrepreneurs, I am NEVER disappointed, and quite honestly ask myself why I do not prioritize offline connection more! In fact, I get most of my speaking engagements from attending OTHER PEOPLE’S events!

A one-minute conversation with a client, colleague, or vendor in person is 100x more impactful than an email or text message, and guaranteed to make a deeper, longer-lasting impact than any virtual connection ever could. A live event is the best use of your time, in terms of being able to deepen existing relationships, as well as cultivate new connections with like-minded individuals in a short period of time! More bang for your buck! (Music to an entrepreneur’s ears!)

3) Get a Fresh Perspective

Going to a live event is surely going to fuel you with endless amounts of inspiration from both the speakers, as well as the peers you connect with. In addition to that, simply getting out of your day-to-day routine is going to impact your life and business in unimaginable ways!

The monotony of your daily routine can be draining! I know that personally, doing my day-to-day work in a new space, with fresh sounds, sights, and smells triggers a new sense of creativity within. I am able to see old, stale ideas, thoughts, and projects in a new light. Attending a live event is the perfect setting to give yourself the space that is necessary to make sure you are always evolving, and not getting stuck in a stagnant routine and train of thought.
