Top Tips for Creating Powerful Messages

Welcome back to Inspired Living TV!

I’m so happy you’re joining me today!  I have dedicated my life to helping entrepreneurs just like yourself, become icons in their industry.  There are so many tools and methods that I use to propel my clients into “icon” status, and one of the ways you can become an industry icon is by creating powerful messages.  But the question is, how do you do that?

In this video, I will be sharing with you the Top Tips On How to Create a Powerful Message that will allow you to stand out and make the impact, income, and influence that you desire.

The first thing I want you to think about when it comes to your message is; Is it timely? Is it relevant?  Is it needed?  Think about what is happening in the world right now. With all the events happening in the world, you can have your message connect in a powerful way.  No matter what you do as a profession, when you can make your message relevant to something in the world, you automatically stand out, and people will start to listen.

If your message doesn’t necessarily relate to a current world event, that’s OK, but it DOES have to matter to someone who is watching. This brings me to tip number two. Know the person you are talking to.  I say it all the time, the camera lens in a conduit.  It’s a lens to that one person who needs you most. You show up so powerfully when you know who in the world you’re talking to.  If you don’t know who you are talking to, it’s really difficult to craft a powerful message because you are usually operating out of ego, your fear starts coming out, you feel scattered because you don’t know who you’re talking to.  And let’s face it, NO ONE is powerful in that moment.  So go back and ask yourself who is that one person I am speaking to.

Tip number three is to show up confident.  Know what you are speaking about before you press record. You can’t have a powerful message, if you don’t know exactly what you’re saying and why you’re saying it.  Although some of us are better when we’re thinking and speaking on our feet (My director at the Golf Channel once told me that I was the worst host he’s ever worked with when it came to rehearsal, but one of best once he hit the record button.)  you can’t have a powerful message if you don’t know exactly what you are saying and knowing why it is relevant. Once you know what you are saying and why you are saying it, watch your confidence level skyrocket! Walking into a filming day feeling confident is going to be a game changer for you and your business.

Tip number 4 for creating a powerful message is to meet them where they’re at.  If I’m the person who is on your website watching your videos or tuning into your Facebook Lives, in the first 3-8 seconds of watching you speak, do I know why it’s for me?

Oftentimes when people create videos, they start off my going into a whole monologue about themselves. To be quite frank, no one cares about you until they know that you care about them. When I work with my entrepreneurs in my Two Day on Camera Training, on day one we talk a lot about your “why”.  Why is someone going to press play and keep watching your video? The way to keep people engaged, is to meet them where they’re at. What is the biggest challenge that they are having around this particular message that you are speaking about? What’s possible for them, when they realize that there is something within their reach, that you can help them get to? Start your videos with the why, meeting your viewers where they are at, and watch how much more powerful your messages will become!

Now that you are confident in your timely, relevant message, and you know who you are talking to, and meeting them where you’re at, the next step is to show authority with a positioning statement.  Essentially, you need to tell your audience “why me”.

This positioning statement is composed of no more than three (3) things, that allow you to show up as an authority in your industry.  For example, in my videos I use the statement “As a TV host and entrepreneur for over twenty years and someone who has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs build their business online, I know that I can help you show up powerfully and with confidence on camera.”  Did you believe it?!

That is a positioning statement. The way you want to show up online, is with confidence and with authority, but without coming across as cocky. Show your audience that you have accomplished what they are seeking.

My last tip for you all as you go out and start curating your powerful message, is to make it simple!  A powerful message is not a 12-step process. A powerful message ignites curiosity, it inspires people, it creates action and motivation. So make your message simple!

That my friends, is how you create a powerful message!  I would love to hear from you. Did this help you? Post below what your favorite tip was, then share this video… when you are inspired, you have the power to inspire others!  Let’s keep the inspiration flowing! Thank you so much for watching.

Until next time…Dream it. Live it. BE it!
