How to Prepare for Transition

Let’s face it, transitions can be challenging.

Whether you are transitioning from your 9-5 job to owning your own business, growing and scaling your business, bringing on a new team member, or starting your two-year-old in school – the transition process can be overwhelming.

What I have found, is that when you can prepare in advance for these times of transition, it can make the process so much easier.

Watch this week’s episode of ILTV to learn about my three easy steps to help smooth the transitional periods in your life.

Here are my three easy steps to help smooth the transitional periods in your life.

1) Have your team ready to go. Friends, wine, chocolate, whatever you need for a little extra support, have it handy! Chances are you’ll be emotional and frustrated and any support system you can have in place beforehand is going to make it that much easier.

2) Create some extra “me” time. It is important to make a conscious effort to set aside some time to just feel. Crying is OK! Don’t book your calendar full – mediate, work out, take a bubble bath, whatever it takes for you to create the space to feel what you need to feel.

3) Be consistent. When you are consistent, everything around you will remain consistent. If you are committed to the result you want, regardless of how it starts out, you will get there eventually. It is going to take more than 24 hours, and it is going to be hard! But when you are clear on what you want to create, the transition is the bridge and the path to get there.

I speak from experience when I say that these steps work. They may seem simple, but they’ve been so effective for me in both my personal and professional life.

I want to leave you with one last bit of advice:

This too shall pass.

The best thing about transitions is that they are temporary. They don’t last forever and you always come out stronger on the other side!

How do you cope with transition? Sharing your own personal experiences has the power to help so many people who are in the midst of transitional times in their lives.

As always, thanks for tuning in! Until next time Dream it. Live it. BE it!
