Entrepreneur turned Mompreneur

Did you hear the big news? I have a new job title. I have gone from entrepreneur to mompreneur!

I get asked all the time how is it going from being an entrepreneur to being a mom. It has been a transition, it has been challenging, it has been life altering, it has been humbling, it has been amazing and it has been hard.

Whenever we do anything in life that is new we have to adjust and having a baby really changes your priorities. Everyone always asked me if I was ready and now I can say no. But are we ever really ready for the next big thing that shows up in our life? We can think about it and try to prepare for it but you show up when things show up for you.

Here are some of my lessons I have learned thus far.

  • There is no such thing as balance, only priorities. When you really want something you are going to be out of balance and sometimes you will have to sacrifice some things but you will always be prioritizing. It’s ok if you don’t feel completely balanced, what matters is finding what’s important and prioritizing.
  • Being present is better than worrying about the future. You can’t worry about things you don’t have any control over. I believe that everything that shows up in our life is for a divine purpose. Everything is meant for us to learn from and grow from. What shows up is what you’re supposed to work with. We can’t predict the future, but what we do have is today.
  • Delegation and trust is a must. I have an amazing team but if I wasn’t ok with delegating to them and trusting that everything was going to be fine, I would be a hot mess. Wherever you are in your life, trust the people around you and delegate. When you are doing what you do best, that is when everything else in your life is going to come to support you and honor that.
  • Share the breakdowns. When we face new challenges it is easy to want to give up and not share that you are struggling. It’s ok to share your breakdown, it’s ok to have bad days. But you don’t have to do it alone!
  • You have to be open to receiving. When we ask for help, we have to expect it.
  • EVERYONE DOES IT DIFFERENTLY. People will always want to tell you their great advice and wisdom. Listen to yourself and trust your intuition and instinct. People will always tell you their great advice and wisdom, Listen and take it in then decides what works best for you and let the rest go.

Of course I want to hear from you! If you are a mompreneur, what are your greatest lessons thus far? Post your comments below.

When you are inspired, you inspire others!
