What is holding you back from growing personally and professionally? I work with entrepreneurs and leaders helping them get out there in a bigger way and when I ask them what keeps them from showing up and playing big I often hear “I am afraid of being judged.” So I have to ask, are you more focused on being liked than being you? And if so think about what that is costing you in your life and your business. People are trying to show up in a way that pleases everyone instead of truly showing up as our authentic amazing self. Here are some of my tips to help you get over the fear of looking stupid so you can grow!
- What is it costing you? You can never truly connect with anyone if you’re only showing up in a way to please others. When you are putting something out there that you think people want to see or doing what someone else is doing, you are not truly being yourself. We don’t need another one of that person, we need one of you! So what is it costing you by keeping your authentic self locked up?
- Keeps you from connecting. Not being your authentic self is costing you true connections. When you take a stand for who you are not going to please everyone but you will reach and connect with the people who love you for you. You will feel so much better when you peel off that mask. You will attract love, abundance, and joy because you are surrounding yourself with people who truly love and appreciate who you are.
- Making the impact that you want. When we are vulnerable and share from the heart people feel like they get to know you. People feel connected when you show you are vulnerable. Ask yourself how are you showing up?
Make small shifts to show up more authentically. The right opportunities will come. Be a little bolder, play a little bigger, stand for yourself, don’t be afraid of conflict, and don’t be afraid of someone not liking you because if they don’t like you they are not meant to be with you.
Of course I would love to hear from you! If you suffer from this or are struggling with this I would love for you to post a comment. Or if you have had an aha moment please share it below!
