Do you find it difficult to balance motherhood with your career? Do you feel like you’re trying to do it all and in doing so you’ve lost yourself?
As women today we are fortunate to be able to step into so many different roles from CEO to entrepreneur to motherhood and life partner. Sometimes it can seem so overwhelming! What can’t we do? And yet, so often we can feel burnt out and unfulfilled.
Today I am sitting down with Bettina Bush, Editor-at-large for Working Mother Media and nationally syndicated radio show host, to share her tips on doing what you love while being the incredible mother that you are (no guilt needed).
- “You are not meant to hid you’re light under a bushel.” Use the gifts God gave you and live a life of service.
- Lead by example. Do as I say not as I do, does NOT work! Show your children that you are leading a life of passion and they will do the same.
- Balance is a verb, it is something you are constantly doing not something you will achieve. When used as a noun, balance is an unattainable perfection that doesn’t exist. Give yourself permission to not be perfect.
- It takes a village. Be able to receive and ask for help. You don’t have to do it all! Be flexible and have a positive attitude.
Listen to yourself. Be easy on yourself. Pat yourself on the back.
I would love to hear from you! What did you take away from this interview?
What does balance mean to you? Do you believe in balance? Please share your thoughts.
When you are inspired, you inspire others.
