Remember growing up on the school playground? If you were anything like me as a little girl, I was a little nervous when it came to playing with the boys simply because of the “like a girl” label. It always seemed like such an embarrassing accusation! Even now I can’t pinpoint exactly what it was that propelled me to feel that way. It just seemed like a normal thing that every other girl dealt with as well.
While it is true we do not live in a society where our worth is measured by the way we run, throw, kick, or punch, it doesn’t stop a lot of girls from losing confidence in their abilities.
Why isn’t it a compliment to be told we do things “like a girl”? We can be whoever we want to be, think how we want to think, doing what we want to do – like a girl. We are all human, and regardless of the stereotypes we face in the world today, we should all encourage each other to be ourselves and do everything in a way we see fit without worrying about the judgment of those who consider doing things “like a girl” to be a bad thing.
Guess what, I do just about everything I do like a girl, and I’m proud of it!
I would love to hear from you…what do you think of this ad? How does the term “like a girl” make you feel?

You are right. I throw balls ‘like a girl’ I am afraid, and it’s not a good way to throw a ball. I guess it’s to do with the way boys like to assert themselves: through boasting, and comparing their prowess with others. They quickly learn that in certain physical aspects boys tend to be better and start drawing attention to those areas. If girls would start drawing attention to the areas where ‘like a girl’ is a compliment that would be great. I run my training programmes like a girl, and I can tell you they get very good feed-back. I build my network like a girl and have a very good network. I do wish I could write like a girl, as my handwriting is awful.
very interesting to me, every time I’m try to be strong to feel confidence..I love the video & I think it’s help me
