Since when did we allow ourselves to settle for anything less than happiness in our lives? We stay in unsupported friendships, lack luster relationships, and jobs where we are overworked, underappreciated (and probably underpaid).

But why?

Fear, self esteem, beliefs, comfort, there are a million reasons and justifications we make for settling but each day we wake up and have a choice:

You can decide to live passively, by continuing to do the things that keep you exactly where you are now, leaving you dissatisfied and wanting more, reinforcing a “victim mentality”

Or…

You can decide to live purposefully, by taking action each day to make you a stronger, happier person with fulfilling relationships and advancing goals.

Whether it is conscious or not, one of these two is chosen every day. There is no “opting out”, it happens whether you like it or not. I vote instead of letting life happen, and settling, live a life well lived. Challenge your current beliefs, circumstances and create a life of awareness.

In this video, I will walk you through some of the biggest questions to help you recognize your fears and overcome them before you settle.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.” – Carl Jung via @ Kerimurphy

I want you to think about all areas of your life: your work, your love life, your friendships and your self- care. Read each question and then write your response without giving it a second thought.

1. Where in your life are you settling for less than you want and need? Write out each place and how you’re settling.

2. Why are you settling? What’s the fear behind it? 3. What do you fear would happen if you stopped settling?

4. What is a new belief about what’s possible for you that you’d like to think about working toward?

5. What would the first small step be if you were to act as if this belief were true?

Overcoming these will stretch you in ways you never thought possible, will eliminate negative relationships and energy from your life and allow you to truly live the life you deserve, not one you have settled into.

Are you stretching yourself? How have you overcome settling in your own life? Please post your story and comments here and feel free to share this video with your friends.
