“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes,” said Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung.
We all can see, but how many of us have true vision?
You all ready have the passion and enthusiasm for your pursuits, but “vision” is the driving force behind doing whatever it takes to be successful. As we come to realize our own unique purpose in life and business, we are then able to set into action the steps to achieve a more fulfilling and prosperous life.
“The greatest idea for your life and your business already exists. Your job as a visionary is simply to “catch” that idea, then live it.”
When I started Inspired Living, my vision was to develop conscious media that inspired people to live their dreams and not give up when obstacles inevitably would arise. I didn’t know how it would all come about but I certainly knew the vision. I often tell my clients, have a clear vision but a flexible road map…the way we get there is not often the way it happens.
Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, acclaimed for his documentary “The Secret” has demonstrated the power of visioning. Visioning and visualization are two different principles. Visualizing is the practice of taking an idea and imagining it becoming a reality, but visioning is listening for what all ready exists and being receptive to taking in the vision without judgment. It may not be exactly what you had imagined, but the perfect idea already exists for you to reach out and grab.
Tune into what is unfolding in front of you. Align your consciousness with that vision and take action to make it your reality. True vision will help you grow into the extraordinary life that is right in front of you, you just need to take the steps to define and stay in sight of your vision.
Many of you have probably taken hours to craft the perfect mission or vision statement for your business. But then what? When was the last time your read yours? You will not be able to reach your desired destination if you lose track of your vision, so keep your head and heart in it at all times.
Here are a few ways to ensure that you don’t lose sight of the end goal and can truly grow your true vision.
Define the real vision. We all go into business and work to make money, but often, especially as an entrepreneur; we have a higher purpose in mind. Helping others, making an impact on our community, the environment or globally. This is not always the case for everyone, but don’t discount the importance of your higher purpose if you have one.
Connect with the picture. We have all heard it before, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Images bring to life our imagination, helping to bring these ideas and thoughts to fruition. What can you do to put your vision and mission into images? If you are artistic, maybe you can draw your vision or create a vision board collage using found images. Each image selected should raise your energy and optimism. Include not only the passion and vision of your dream, but the rewards you seek such as money, travel, respect or whatever is important to you.
Step into your vision as if it already is. Everyday take time to study and connect with your vision. Use the vision board you created to meditate and allow your body to feel and live your success. This will make you act differently and you will connect with people at a higher level. Suddenly opportunities will come to you.
Have you ever noticed that successful people are like magnets? People and opportunities seem to fall in their laps, but that is because no one can stop them. Their vision is embedded in all of their actions and they believe with all of their heart that they can and will make their vision a reality. Embracing your purpose and using visioning to “catch” your vision sets you on the path to do the same. Start working to achieve the success in life and business you have envisioned!
