Are you wondering how you will ever get noticed in the sea of online marketing? How to compete with everyone and every business without hiring a small army of social media marketing gurus, SEO wizards or an unlimited bank account to pay for placement ads? Anyone can be anything online. You need to stand out, make people search for YOU, follow YOU. I want to share with you a few key points that will help you position yourself and get the attention of the viewers you want.
- Be Authentic and Show Vulnerability. Don’t try to be perfect, be you. People want to do business with people that they know, like and trust. Let your clients get to know you. Talk to them like you would your friends and family. Build trust. Show people that you are authentic and vulnerable. Share more of you than just your business and what you do and the products that you offer.
- Stand for Something – Disrupter. You need to stand out. How are you doing things differently from what everyone else is doing? Think about politicians, entertainers, and people who stand out the most. Not everyone likes them but they have everyone’s attention. Don’t be afraid to stand for something greater than who you are.
- Use Video. Video is key; 8 out of 10 views online are video. People connect so much more with video than anything else. Give people a multisencsory experience of you through video and let them connect.
- Be Consistent. The most important key with using any source of media is consistency. Make a plan and stick to it. If you don’t have the time or your time is better spent doing what you do best, get help. For you to really reach people and stand out online you need to be consistent.
Of course, I would love to hear from you! Are you uncertain or overwhelmed with how to stand out online? Has this video been helpful or do you have a tip to share? If so, please post below!

Keri, how often is too often when posting videos? Daily, weekly?
Hi Kerry, I’ve only recently come to know of you, and I find myself drawn to your message, styling and overall branding. I create daily Christian devotional video’s that I post on my Facebook wall. I feel that my styling, backdrops, and overall presence needs to be so much more than it is right now. I don’t have expensive video capturing equipment / lighting / sound recording tools, and really try to push the limits with what I do use. I’d love to create a more elegant brand in my daily videos. That’s what I’m most keen to learn ~ how to polish up my look and overall video experience. Thank you for everything you do so tastefully and stylishly. 🙂
