How to Get Over the Fear of Selling

Have you ever been on a call with a hot prospect, the conversation is going great, they are into what you’re saying but then the call starts coming to an end you know you have to ask for the sale . . .  and nothing happens. You freeze. Do you have the fear of selling? Many people do and trust me, I have been there. In this blog I will share with you some things you can do to really help this process become seamless and allow you to serve more people. And when you serve more people you make more money!

  • Know the result you provide. Be confident about the results you provide and understand where they are verses where they want to be. You can then help them see the discrepancy and show them you have a product that can bridge that gap and voila, the sale is right there. Ask your clients those important questions and invite them to move forward to get the help and offer your services in a way of complete support and no attachment.
  • Listen more than talk. When on these calls we have a tendency to talk all about our products and services but the most important thing you can do is listen and ask questions. When your prospect is talking about their challenges, dig deeper, get to the core issue and then offer your help.
  • Understand your value. If you don’t understand your value then the person you are talking to won’t understand it either. This is not the time to discount your price and co-create their story of scarcity. Whatever price you offer, stick to it. Be confident and stand in your value.
  • Let go of any expectations. Your goal is for them to decide whether they want to buy or not. Both are great decisions but we know how uncomfortable it is to be stuck in maybe. You want to help them get to a yes or no. When you approach your calls that way, it’s not scary at all. Let go of the expectation but help them get to a decision.

Of course, I would love to hear from you! Do you struggle when it comes to closing sales or enrollment conversations? Has this video been helpful or do you have a tip to share? If so, please post below!
