Embrace- How would you describe your body?

If you were asked to describe your body in one word, what would it be? I’ve got a feeling it may not be very positive. The majority of women in the world have developed an unhealthy view on their bodies and an even unhealthier negative opinion about what it’s supposed to look like. Who can blame them? We are bombarded with images of what the “perfect” body should look like and most likely the women around us often complain about their imperfect body as well. What if that self-talk changed?

I know for me being pregnant, I have really focused on trying to love the changes my body is going through. The softening of muscle definition, the expanding waist, hip and bottom line and don’t even get me started on how big my boobs are! One woman’s curse is another woman’s blessing right?! The fact of the matter is…our bodies are beautiful.

In this incredibly inspiring video, we see the amazing transformation of Austrailian beauty, Taryn Brumfitt. Her story has been shared with millions all over the world and now she is out to start on a project to promote healthy body image for women worldwide.

With the power of social media and any form of technology at our fingertips, it’s unbelievably important that we are able to teach the young women in our lives to love themselves, every single inch! We cannot set an example for them if we do not first become the leader. What things do you do each day to create a more positive influence on the women around you?

How young women think about their body begins with you as a mother, aunt, sister, and friend…it starts with YOU and how you think and what you say about your body. Knowing that I am bringing a baby girl into this world soon I am even more committed to changing the body conversation. I hope you will join me and the thousands of other women across the globe.
