Have you ever thought about doing something bold but then decided not to because you were afraid of being judged? You are not alone! The one thing I hear the most from my clients, friends and people whom I have been so blessed to interact with is; “I am so excited to go out there. I am so passionate to share my message, but I am also so fearful about what other people will think.” The fear of judgment can be so paralyzing that we end up NOT doing whatever it is we are called to do.
In this weeks IL video I’m going to discuss 3 things that will help you get over that fear of judgment once and for all.
1. Judgment is about THEM not YOU- People are going to say and do, whatever it is that people say, ESPECIALLY if you are doing what you love and you are creating a lot of success around it. Remember, whatever it is they are saying, it is a reflection of THEM and not YOU.
2. Surround yourself with other “crazies”- You hear me say this a lot, but it is so important for your success. Hang out with other like-minded people. Your family, and friends don’t need to always understand what you are doing. They may even think you are “crazy” for doing what you are doing, and that is-OK. If you are trying something new and innovative, find other people who are doing the same, and hang out with them.
3. You must be confident- If you are not confident with whatever it is you are doing, then you shouldn’t be doing it. With anything in life, there are learning curves and growing pains. Taking the first baby steps are always the hardest. But when you know where you are going and you are clear about it, you will be okay with the stumbling blocks that come along the way.
Keep in mind, the higher you climb that ladder, the more judgment there will be and the more people will want to bring you down. You have to be really secure with who you are, where you are going and what you are committed to doing.
I know it is not easy. I have shed many tears over what other people have said about me. However, as I grow more comfortable with myself and as my business grows, I am more confident with the woman that I am, and the woman that I choose to be.
If you are struggling with the fear of judgment, I want you to check in and ask yourself:
a) Am I judging myself?
b) Am I hanging out with other crazies?
c) Am I letting other people’s reflections of themselves come back on to me and am I taking that in?
I want to hear from YOU! Please share with us if you are struggling with the fear of judgment or if you are climbing that ladder and have dealt with this before. Comment below and share your story. I LOVE to hear from you.

Keri, you hit the nail on the head again. I will not give up on what I know I am called to do. But there was a time I listened to too many people tell me I was crazy for getting my Real Estate License when the market crashed. However, I knew Real Estate was the best fit for me. I followed my passion. Today I represent many Seniors in the downsizing process as an expert matching passion and expertise. Thanks for another great video!
Great video. Thanks.
Great Video Keri! Thanks for the reminder that we all need courage and resilience to manage the criticisms of others.
