As many of you may know, I have dedicated my life to helping people share their message on camera. I help entrepreneurs use video content to share their message, make a difference, and have a bigger impact in the world. One of the most common statements I hear from the entrepreneurs that I work with, is “Keri, why does my message matter? I just watched a video and someone is saying exactly what I want to say!”
Can you relate to this train of thought?
If so, I’m going to stop you in your tracks. You’ve got to get over the comparison critic. There is no one who can share YOUR message the way YOU can!
To answer your question – why does your message matter? There are people looking for YOU. There are people out there looking for your story, your background, your expertise, the way that you say it, your personality. No one can share you message the way you do, because you are the only you. There will never, ever, be another one of you on this planet. Let that sink in! Never, EVER!
So please, do not believe for even one second that your message doesn’t need to be heard. Embrace your uniqueness, and knock that comparison critic to the curb!
With all of the negativity we currently have circling around our planet, now more than ever, we need more people sharing their positive message. If you have a message that is controversial, put it out there. Commit to making a difference and don’t worry about looking good, or pleasing people, you’ll never please them all. It’s normal to doubt yourself. We all have that little voice in our head that tries to knock us down, but I am here to remind you that you are extraordinary and we need you. So please, get out there and start sharing your message!
The last thing that I want to leave you with if you are feeling like “who am I”, is that you are not alone. Every leader you know has has these same feelings, and so many famous leaders have talked about this “Imposter Syndrome”. They feel like they don’t have the right to share what they need to share. We ALL have it! They key is to acknowledge it, then say “thank you, you can leave now.” Bottom line, no one can share you message the way you can. Don’t let the imposter syndrome get in the way of you shining your light on this world!
