Part 2: Fashion VS Style
Last Week I mentioned Fashion vs. Style: I would like to expound on that a bit if I may.
Does the task of trying to define your own individual style make you feel a little crazy? Perhaps we can eliminate the confusion of it by understanding the difference between Fashion and Style. Style is how we see ourselves, what we want to project to the outside world. It speaks of who we are before we speak or present credentials. Style comes from within otherwise it is just “fashion”, a regurgitation of what we see on a style blog or magazine. It is the ability to sort through all of the options, make a wise selection, and in doing so keeping in line with how we see ourselves. This can be a difficult task for most. The limitless options in the market place can be a tad bit overwhelming and that is if you even know where to shop in the first place.
Style is a statement of creativity! It gives a glimmer of personality, self-expression and it is a reflection of our unique character. It is self-knowledge and self-confidence, owning who we are in this world then expressed through what we choose to wear.
Fashion on the other hand, well, it’s JUST clothes. Fashion costs but Style is “priceless.” Style is a reflection of your spirit, it comes from within. With style we stamp our personal identity on our clothes. It is an aspect of our identity we want to make known through our fashion…and there you have it.
